The winter of 2003 two old friends met in The City of Trondheim. Old tricks were made new, and in no time, there was no doubt about the next step. A couple of phone calls were made, and after intense persuasion, two friends had become four. Jimbo Jones as a band was born. A garage with no forms of insulation, with the quicksilver at fifteen below, was not the ideal practice space, but at least inspired the band to find a warmer and more soundproof location.

After two months of intensive practice, the band was offered to tour with Norwegian hardcore superstars "The Spectacle". This included 5 gigs at the beginning of The Spectacles european tour of 2003. The band recorded a two song promo for the occation. This was meant to be given out to every Harry, Dick and Tom with a interest. The tour was a success and the band waited no longer than a month before hitting the road again, this time headed north. Six gigs were played between Tromsø and Trondheim. With such a sudden introduction to the rock'n'roll lifestyle and life on the road, the band sat back and let the impressions seep in. The band all agreed that there was to be more touring!

Troy McClure Records was established as a result of Jimbo Jones' uncontrollable urge to get out there as fast as possible. No time waiting for a record-deal. With their own label they had full creative and economic control, regardless of any interests of the corporate music business. A minimalistic studio and an unlimited amount of studio time, coffee and cigarettes were to become the foundations of which the debut Jimbo ep was built upon. January 2005 the record was released, and the machine named JJ was rollin'. At the releaseparty everyone who showed up got a free copy of the ep. More touring was in the works, and JJ has now visited both neighbouring countries of Finland and Sweden, as well as the baltic countries.

February 24, 2007 As some of you may know, we`re on a tour of northern norway. We started out at Lagre in Namsos. Great food, great sound, great support act! Yesterday we played at Steinkjer. The combination of Jimbo and Steinkjer is horrible when it comes to playing shows, but excellent when it comes to parties. Nudity, Group sex, torture and excesses all around. Thanks to Steinkjer Punkforening, in which we are now certified members, and their president, Laffen. Needless to say, had kind of a slow start today with lots of drunken antics from Irrumatore. We`re currently situated at Helheim in Mo i Rana, a great venue it seems. This guy Øyvind is doing lights for us and I think it will be great. More news later.

January 3, 2007 Never mind 2006, here's 2007!
We hope to see a little more action this year, hopefully we'll be installed in a brand new rehearsalroom by mid january, and we can get started with our pre-prods. Other than that, a small tour of northern norway is in the works, so we hope to see many of the cool people we know up north any day now.

October 31, 2006 This weekend we had a visit by our good friend Pål Hoff, who lives in Oslo. Besides him shopping for shoes, and the whole north-norwegian punkrock crew drinking ourselves silly, we had a very nice photoshoot. You should relly check out the Mr. X website for some examples of Påls photography, there's even some of the photos from saturday there.
Hm, and while I remember it, all people in northern Norway should get their asses out to the Dominic/Snöras-shows. It's great stuff!

October 10, 2006 New shit in the videosection! Live-clip from a show we did at samfunnet some time ago. You can also check out some nice live tracks from UFFA: Candygirl, Grizzlybear Underwear and Lightning Asses.

October 5, 2006 Some old news, and some pretty darn fresh news! Chronologically, it goes something like this: Bodø was really cool. Three days of excesses, Pretty good for a festival located a hundred meters from the police headquarters. The show was ok, and the party after was fantastic, lots of people, nudity, and I got to make out with a pretty girl. I'd also like to thank the kid who found my lucky t-shirt, nice one! Next up was kåken-festivalen, good bands, good people, a bit too hot, but grooovy as fjeill. This weekend we'll play an all ages at ISAK in trondheim. Be there, you don't have to be smashed at every show (though it helps some times).

August 31, 2006 One chapter in the book of JJ is over. Today we moved out of our trusty basement due to new landlords. Hopefully we'll get a new home soon. Luckily there's some groovy things to tell also: Tomorrow we fly to Bodø to play a show at Parkenfestivalen. We will be playing at Sinus with some cool bands; Humdinger and a new project with members from the now defunct The Spectacle. Last, but not least, Bergen was excellent! A zillion thanks to Trond Anders, Bjarte and Tom, for making shit happen. We'll come back soon for more shoplifting, suckerpunches and drunken acrobatics! Long live the revolution!

July 23, 2006 After a summer of complete and utter inactivity, we're back on track. Sustein has returned from tour with RIFU, and Erot has come home from bodø, where he has been working off debts. We are now heavily into songwriting for the upcoming release. We'll start off by doing a show at kvarteret in Bergen 19th of august. We're looking forward to coming back to the capital of western norway, it's always nice.

June 1, 2006 Last night was one of the coziest evenings ever! The men from up north had UFFA all to themselves, and it rocked! Both The Spectacle and Dominic delivered mindblowing shows, and I think we did quite good ourselves (toot toot). Thanks to The Spectacle for letting us support on their last ever trondheim show, we really appreciated it.

May 19, 2006 New guestbook up and running. It's one of them annoying free ones, still, it seems too work fine. Sign it now!

May 2, 2006 Hey people! We had a nice sober time at Isak. Played some new tunes, saw some great bands and ate burgers. Our guestbook seems to have imploded, and I'm not the man to fix it, so have patience. Next gig will be with our friends in Dominic and The Spectacle the 31st of may. This will be the last Spectacle-show in trondheim ever, I guess, so bring your friends for an excellent show.

April 21, 2006 Thanks for not beating us up in Steinkjer, everyone! As mentioned earlier it was an excellent party, and we got drunk as ducks! Luckily, every band on the bill before us delivered fat ass punk rock and hardcore. After the concerts we all partied at the the local motorcycle club, that's where the beatings should have come our way. Irrumatore was really shitfaced and was running around naked and falling all over the place. After bumping his head into the floor a couple of times, he finally collapsed on a nearby couch and started vomiting. Thanks again for not beating us to death! Special thanks goes out to Andrea (we love you), for letting us crash in her mothers basement, really sorry about curtains, broken porcelain, and urine-soaked matresses!

April 06, 2006 Hey there! We're gonna make an appearance at Nattrock this year. It's the 30th of april at ISAK. By the way, the concert at Larssen was good stuff, with drinks and fine-looking women everywhere. Thanks for having us, and remember us next year. For those of you who like rocking the night away (and being sober), see you at ISAK!

March 29, 2006 Finally some action, dudes. We're gonna play acouple of shows the next weeks. First we're gonna play at the birthdayparty of Ellen and her friend at Kafe Larssen in trondheim. Next we're going to play the infamous Påskepunken in Steinkjer, if you see us please don't beat us up. It's gonna be one heill of a party, with bands like Bin Lads, Dirty Toilets and my own side-project Sexy Police. Be there, or be square!

March 26, 2006 Sustein and Irrumatore are finally back from tour with RIFU, and we're back in business. We'll be writing some new songs for our full-length that'll be released later this year. I also think there will be a couple of shows this spring, info on that will be posted later. We're looking forward to grooving in the studio and we'll post news as we go. Maybe we'll even make a studioreport! See some of you the 31st!

Desember 6, 2005 We now have our tourdiary up and running, written by the omnipotent Sustein. It's only in Norwegian, sorry. We also have this page at myspace where you can listen, buy, become our friend send us messages and stuff like that. Very cozy, indeed. Tourdiary with pictures and the gravy, can be found here, and myspace can be found here. Have an otherwise groovy day!

November 16, 2005 The site is undergoing yet another tune-up. A fresh new color-scheme and a paypal mailorder-thingy. Pretty nifty if you ask me. Maybe now, shirts and records will be dispatched faster, and foreign dudes will have an easier time ordering. We're also upgrading our recording computer at the moment, having a bit of troubles with drivers and other technical stuff. One of us (probably the biggest idiot) uses his time on other projects these days, so other jimbo-activities are sparse and far between.

November 03, 2005 Finally we're back to trondheim after three weeks on the road. It has been quite an experience. We've met many good people and played with many good bands. A diary from the tour will probably come later, so I won't go on and on about it. There won't be too much activity in the jimbo-camp for a while now, but stay tuned just in case.

October 11, 2005 The new Jimbo Jones t-shirt will be available for sale on our october tour. If we do not play in your hometown, you can order it by sending an e-mail to this address: dogovers@start.no. Time for another update. We've had two very cozy gigs lately. First we played at Hausmania, which was excellent, free beer and drugs for everyone. Everybody was happy with the arrangement. We even visited Norways only coffeeshop in Otta on the way home, and some of us got to fire guns. Very nice. When we arrived in Trondheim, it was time for our gig with Victimised and Ordrenekt. Raskas Tykistö also showed up and delivered. Pleasant surprise. All in all a nice "micro-tour". Tomorrow we will get back in the van and head north. We're gonna play shows with bands such as Revolt, Beyond the fences, Quiritatio, Please turn over and Falling down the stairs. Check the shows-section for dates you fuckers!

September 25, 2005 Damn long since the last update. Some gigs have come and gone in the shows section, and we played a show in Ålesund. I guess sundays at Smutthullet pub, ain't the best day for loud and noisy rock. Still, it was fun and I got to puke my guts out at the nachspiel. Next up we will be supporting the twin release of Trondheims trashcore heroes Victimised and Ordrenekt (thrashcore heroes from Stavanger). We will function as soft elevatormusic before the show kicks loose. Bring beer and your best spiked leather jacket.

August 09, 2005 New videoclip posted in the videosection! It's from a gig we did in a basement with our friends in Dominic, excellent party indeed. When it comes to the festivals, Råttistock was excellent, with good performances by both Bin Lads (my favourite), and Åggis. Storås was kind of fucked up by too little practice and too many boring coincidences. Thanks to Thomas Ryjord of desperado for getting us a classic(no, not an acoustic) guitar on a moments notice. Samfundet's up next.

June 22, 2005 Some exciting news. The booking for our tour this winter seems to be coming along allright. The tour at this point includes five countries, Norway, Sweden, Finland(!), Latvia and Lithuania. Hopefully some gigs in Estonia will be booked, since we'll be traveling through there too. As for the summer, two festivals have been booked, Storås and Råttistock. We'll be playing next to the hot tubs and the beer tent, so bring some money for beer and your swimming trunks.

May 30, 2005 As the most observant of you may have noticed, we have a new website. The website is designed and will be maintained by our dear drummer Sustein. The plan is to post some goodies every now and then, like the video currently featured. Other than that there's a new concert comin' up at Kafe Larsen. And by the way, I have an incredibly good guitar for sale, Gibson ES 333, mail us if it makes your cock hard.
